A Little Site Update

Hey folks!

As you know, I don't do this too often. Not much need to. I usually just stick it into one of my various other posts. Speaking of which, yeah, this week's Crush is coming soon, and other stuff as well. I just thought I might like to prepare you for some of it, as well as throwing in a plug for my Instagram too.

So, believe it or not, I'm actually pretty backed up with articles/reviews I've been meaning to write. I hope to find the time to get on those soon. As you may or may not know though, I also do art commissions, and since I have a meager day job (that hopefully will eventually be replaced by me actually being able to support myself as a cartoonist or artist/performer of some other variety), I barely manage to work on that stuff. In fact, I am so behind on a couple of my art commissions it's insane. I did finish ONE recently though, thank goodness! Anyway, that's why the comics have come so rarely lately, but I hope to get back on those soon too. I keep thinking I'm about to, but it's amazing how fast the days have been going by!

Anyway, there are two bits of big news. One, we are going to start having some guest writers! As it turns out, one of my good online friends is a huge fan of trying out all the unique new flavors of some of our favorite snack foods that have been coming out with great frequency lately, and I've asked him if he'd like to write some articles for the site to tell us about them. I mean, Candy Corn Oreos? Seriously! I'd love to hear about stuff like that, and MAYBE I'll get up the nerve to try some myself! Looking forward to that stuff, and I hope you all will enjoy it!

The other big news I've dropped hints about before...

In fact, I'd hoped to do this last week, but I never got the time. I feel like this is going to be a bit of a time consumer for me, though I will try not to overwhelm you when I get to doing it, which I hope will be literally any day now. Basically, I recently took my first trip to Disney World in ten years. As you may know, I'm a Disney fanatic, so this was a big deal to me! It was also my first trip there during the holidays (went in early December), so it was double special, especially with the all new Fantasyland! Naturally, I wanna tell you guys all about my trip, complete with self shot pics like the one above (courtesy of my iPhone), so be prepared for some Christmas in February, Disney Style! It's coming soon! Very soon, I hope!

I also might be doing a follow up to my recent School Pizza article, as something very curious has popped up in the vending machine at work, and I have my fingers crossed. Other reviews I'm hoping to get to involve a little taco place called Torchy's and my favorite place in town, The Alamo Drafthouse, so watch for that, and HOPEFULLY some new comics as well! And, yes, yes, the Crush of the Week. I know, it's my favorite part too.

Oh, but one thing I just remembered. I really don't know if I'm going to keep mentioning recent celebrity deaths. It's just coming too fast and frequently now, and it's so depressing. Now we've lost Philip Seymour Hoffman. I just don't know if I want to keep mentioning them. I was doing it to be informative to those who didn't know about it, AND to show my respect and appreciation for these lost talents, but I also don't want this site to become a downer. I might still do it occasionally, but it's not really something I want to worry about keeping up with.

So, just wanted to update you guys on all that stuff. Also, if you want a sneak preview of stuff I'll be talking about soon, you may want to follow me on Instagram, where I've posted lots of pics of my trip as well as other stuff! I also post a grab from my personal DVD/Blu-Ray collection every day, as well as lots of pics of items from my toy collection on a more random basis. You can find me there as Nathan Lee James. Simple as that! Now, I better get going, but be sure to visit often, because there's lots more great stuff to come week after week here at the Moonlight Motel!
