Monty's Crush of the Week - Halloween Edition - Fright Night's Window Girl

Irina Irvine
Fright Night - 1985
billed as "Teenage Girl"
(but we all knew her as the girl in the window)

Yep, I decided to bring my Crush of the Week feature back with a bit of a theme for this month: The Halloween Edition. Of course, I've posted many of my more famous horror, monster movie, and spooky themed crushes already, so this might be a challenge. Then again, probably not. Horror movies are FULL of gorgeous dreamgirls, and there are surely some in the non-horror Halloween stuff too. Plus, there's, what, 4 to 5 weeks in a month? And I missed the first one. Yeah, as usual, the real problem is settling on one girl to feature every time I do this... feature. This first crush though, was quite an easy choice. I'd been meaning to post her for a while. I don't THINK I've posted her before. I might have mentioned her, but I don't think I've had her as crush of the week. If I have, ha, my bad, but I'm mostly pretty sure. Anyway...

This is Irina Irvine, whom any kids of the 80's with a fondness for the ladies will surely remember, even if perhaps not by name. She had a small but memorable role in my all-time favorite vampire film, "Fright Night" (the original, of course). Memorable because, quite frankly, because she shows her very nice boobies. However, I wanna stress that she didn't become a crush of mine for that mere fact alone! Back in the 80's, you couldn't watch a movie without seeing boobies, unless it was rated G! They were everywhere! Onscreen, anyway. Still haven't seen any in real life. Well, except during art classes and my friend's bachelor party, but... it's been a while. Anywho, no, for me, it was more than that, as awesome as that was. Even though she had no lines and her scene, though haunting, was very brief, she was quite simply drop-dead gorgeous! I mean, she had this Sarah Michelle Gellar thing going on before Buffy ever existed! Speaking as a face and hair guy more than anything, to my tastes she was a vision! I'll illustrate with the screencaps I took below...

And, there you have it. One of my all-time biggest crushes, based entirely on a very, very brief scene in one 80's horror movie. Irina did an episode of Freddy's Nightmares and she did apparently have a recurring role in that late 80's/early 90's Beauty and the Beast TV show that was remade recently, but I can't speak for how she was in that. Perhaps she was unrecognizable. I don't know, and I don't care. To me, she will always be that goddess in the window that met an unfortunate end at the hands of vampire Jerry Dandrige, who then had the nerve to go all googoo over Amanda Bearse's character like a day or two later! Are you serious, Jerry? Marcy D'Arcy? I'd have been too busy picking out a two-person coffin and teaching Irina to turn into a bat for any of that chicken-legged action!
