R.I.P. Wes Craven, 1939 - 2015

I try to avoid posting this sort of thing here, but often it seems the right thing to do. However, I also know that more often than not I completely miss the news, or... well, whatever. Point is, these come along far too often and I post far too few if I'm going to be posting them at all. Though I don't want to make this site about that. Still, sometimes you can't not do it. Yeah, I know I'm rambling. Honestly, I hate death so much, and this is just one of two great losses I'll be making note of here tonight, (the other will be in a different category of article).

It's true, I hate death, but ironically, I do love horror films, and whether or not you're a fan of his particular breed of horror films, Wes Craven was undeniably one of the legends in his field. Most notably, he gave us the dream haunting Freddy Krueger of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and the far more nightmarish horrors of The Last House on the Left and The Hills Have Eyes. If those weren't your cup of tea, he also gave us the Scream franchise, a hallmark of my generation. Not to mention a couple of personal faves, Deadly Friend and The People Under the Stairs, and many more I know at least a couple of my good friends will remind me of after reading this.

Tragically, we lost Wes two days ago to brain cancer, and horror fans all over the world are grieving. R.I.P. Wes Craven, always to be remebered as one of the true masters of Horror.
